Recipe for Success in  Longarm Quilting One of my favourite quotes is from "Le Petit Prince" by Antoine de Sainte Exupery. I first read his beautiful book when I was at school. Later in life, in my mid twenties when I was spending time in Paris on a regular basis I decided to improve my French by reading the French version. When I got to the phrase that had struck me as a child I wrote it down in my journal and I've transcribed it into the front page of every journal since. In English one translation reads. "It's very simple . It is only with the heart that one sees rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye." The original French. " Il est  très simple : on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." It applies to many things. Our Blog Post focuses on the first of our new curated Glide thread Collections - Mermaid. My friend Sharon's daughter is called Meg and is nicknamed the Mermaid. Sharon made her the most amazing mermaid tail. Sharon is a complete water baby too and is a talented sailor. Although I lived in the middle of England I  felt more comfortable in the water than out of it, so in my final summer after University searched every course I could to learn about sailing and canoeing. I took part in Ocean Youth Club, which was celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 1985. We sailed from Liverpool to the Isle of Man, Belfast and up the west coast of Scotland to Oban. I will never forget the Captai...

Whenever we start a new year, it's a chance for new resolutions, fresh starts and new ways of looking at things. Of course we don't have to have a "new year" to do those things. We can start afresh at any time of the year and at any point of the day. It's all about making a decision to do so. I was talking with a lovely person recently -Brid. She is a wise lady. I listen and learn from her. And so my resolution is to listen to others more. " Pete will be delighted !" I said!  He doesn't know that is my decision for 2022. It comes on the back of so many things that I have been thinking about recently.  In a world where so much is about " Me " isn't it time for " We "?  In October the " Quilts for Care Leavers " event we ran in October showed how powerful it is when we care enough to give time for others.  I know so many quilters who give their time for others. Quilters are such wonderful people. Thank you if you are o...
